Serving the North Jersey Bergen/Passaic Counties for over 60 years.

Dr. Peter M. Perera very proudly continues the practices’ long standing tradition of high quality dentistry at a personal level that has enabled him to treat multiple Third Generation patients. The practice was established in 1961 by Dr. Anthony Antonelli. In 1981, Dr. Gregory VanVliet joined the practice as the office moved to its current location at Mountainside Center, 33 Sicomac Road, North Haledon, NJ; conveniently located on the Wyckoff – Franklin Lakes border. In 1995, Dr. Perera joined the practice as it expanded from four to the current six modern treatment rooms. Now, most recently, Dr. Michael Russo has joined the practice. Dr. Russo brings years of experience and a commitment to continuing education and training excellence. His presence will be a valuable and welcome addition to the practice.

As a family practice, we love to get to know our patients to provide them the best treatment possible. Our Doctors take pride in providing honest, gentle, and caring dentistry. We have been privileged to take care of many multi-generational families. Meet our dentists

Dr. Peter M. Perera, D.M.D., P.A.

Dr. Peter M. Perera was raised in Clifton, New Jersey. He went to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst graduating in 1988. Dr. Perera was accepted to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1992. While at Tufts Dental , Dr. Perera was elected by his peers Class Vice President for four years, he achieved Honors in Restorative Dentistry; Endodontics including winning the Endodontic Award in 1992; while on an Externship with the U.S. Coast Guard in Alameda , CA ; and was selected as Student Marshall for graduation.

Dr. Perera performs most aspects of dentistry with emphasis on restorative dentistry, including crowns, bridgework, implants; root canals and extractions within his scope of expertise. Dr. Perera has extensive experience with comprehensive cosmetic cases with over 6,000 crown units to his credit.

Dr. Perera has been recognized as one of America’s Top Dentists multiple years.

In his free time, Dr. Perera enjoys time “down the shore” with his wife Lisa , daughters Gianna and Nicolette and family and friends. Skiing in the winter is still a much enjoyed passion. Dr. Perera is a retired triathlon participant.

Dr. Michael Russo, D.M.D.

High Mountain Dentistry is pleased to introduce Dr. Michael Russo to the practice.

He has expanded the operating hours of the practice including Friday appointments. He is committed to making dentistry a comfortable experience with his warm, friendly demeanor and gentle procedures.

Highly credentialed, he completed his DMD at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2015 before attending a residency program at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center. While in practice, he has advanced his training and education with activity and memberships at the American Dental Association, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and New Jersey Dental Association.

When not at the office, you can catch him at the ball field, or at the market trying to find the best ingredients for recipes to cook with his wife and son. We are excited for you to meet him at your next appointment!
